Not yet....

So, we still haven't heard anything from the Smyrna Fire Department! But we found out that we should find something out this week!! EEEk..

Some new developments: Chad had an interview with the University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa, to be their Aquatics director. It was a phone interview and it lasted almost an hour. I don't like the idea of moving to Alabama, but if he gets the job they will pay for him to get his masters. I like that. So if he doesn't get the fire fighting thing, we might be moving to Alabama. He will have another interview in person sometime in the next 2 weeks.

Question: Owen is constantly taking off his diaper, he is constantly asking me to change his diaper, even if he just peed in it a little bit, he wakes up dry and has an interest in using the potty. He will be 2 in July. Do you think its too soon to potty train him? I wasn't planning on doing it for a while, just b/c we had such a HORRIBLE experience with Hallie, but since hes going through diapers like crazy, I thought maybe we should, but I'm SCARED!!! What if he's too young? What if he's not ready yet?

I would say go ahead and try to potty train him. Joe's neice kept watnting to be potty trained and did some of those same things. She was potty trained i think before she turned 2 or right at that age. Wouldn't hurt to try. Every child is different.

I am going through the same thing with Kensley. She will be 2 in August and has been doing this on and off for months. I take her potty several times a day and she usually has success. I'm about to just jump in and hope to have it all over with quickly. I would love to have no need for diapers in my house. Go for it...worst case scenario is he's not quite ready and you put him back in diapers.

I say wait until he turns 2, then try it- if you guys have to move soon, you aren't going to want to be potty training in the middle of it and have it disturbed.

We're starting to train Abbie and she'll be 2 in July, but have not pushed it that much because her schedule is so messed up from moving and everything changing.
She tells us she needs to go potty, and usually sits until she go, but it depends on the day.
I'd say when he's ready he'l let you know. He might be ready but like Scarbrough said you don't want to be in the middle of it and have to move.

Oh, he's not too young. If he's showing signs that he's interested that's when you should make the effort to encourage him. It might not be as hard if he's willing. Never postpone for a better time- that time will never come. Just think if he is successful you will be done with diapers for a while. Hooray for that!
